Suzie and Pablo
Pablo kept telling me for weeks that one
of his clients wanted to take us out to dinner. I
dismissed it as an unimportant event. I became really
busy studying for the CPA exam and the night before the
exam (Wednesday) Pablo told me we would be going out
with his client, Felix, for dinner on Saturday. I, too
busy with my studying, conceded.
Saturday afternoon,
while Pablo and I were at lunch, Felix called my cell
phone and left a message indicating that his wife was
ill and that they would be unable to make it, but that
the reservations and dinner were taken care of and that
Pablo and I should still go ahead without them. I
insisted we not go, Pablo insisted we go. And finally
we did.
Before dinner, I got up to use the ladies room
and when I came back the open ring box was on my plate
with my napkin over it, so that when I sat down and
placed the napkin back on my lap I would see it. But
Pablo told me I took too long in the ladies room so
I began to explain to him my odessey while I was
looking at him and placed the napkin back on my lap
without seeing the ring.
Finally he pointed out
something on my plate, I looked and was in total shock.
He asked. I said "yes". And we're getting married in
Italy in October. It will go down as one of the
greatest moments in my life!
